On July 23, the 2025 Overseas Innovation Forum · China (Zhejiang) World Conference for New-Generation Overseas Chinese on Innovation and Entrepreneurship was held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Focusing on the new-generation overseas Chinese community, the conference built a platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, communication and networking, attracting overseas Chinese elites, sci-tech innovators and experts and scholars from 52 countries and regions across the globe.

Fifteen benchmark cases of innovation and entrepreneurship by new-generation overseas Chinese were released at the conference. Hanwei Technology from Zhejiang was successfully selected for its world-leading self-developed aqueous zinc-ion technology, emerging as an innovation benchmark in the energy storage sector.

The conference received high attention from leaders at all levels. Lu Guoyi, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Director of the Committee for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party; Wang Wenxu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department; Zhang Zhenfeng, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province and Secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee; Wu Jing, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress; Ye Zhengbo, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Hu Wei, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province and Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, attended the event and delivered speeches.

The conference fully recognized the unique strengths and role of high-caliber overseas talents returning to China for innovation and entrepreneurship in the new era, stressing that youth power serves as the core driving force for scientific and technological innovation. It encouraged young people of overseas Chinese communities to keep pace with international frontiers, act as a bridge, integrate knowledge empowerment and innovative technologies into the drive to build a strong country, and contribute to national rejuvenation.
