Release time:2026-09-30 21:09:18
On 29 September, Tech Week Singapore 2026 opened at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. As one of the core segments of the event, the 12th Data Centre World Asia focused on topics including AI-ready infrastructure, energy strategies and sustainable development. Zhejiang Vastech Energy Co., Ltd. (VASTECH ENERGY) showcased high-rate cells, Sidecar MW-level high-power battery systems and high-power battery cabinet series at Booth B112, presenting its short-duration, high-power backup power solutions for critical loads in AI data centres.
01
Growth in AI Computing Power Reshapes Power Backup Demands of Data Centers
As the scale of GPU clusters and the power density of single cabinets keep rising, data center loads feature higher power levels, greater fluctuations and stricter continuity requirements. Power backup systems are no longer merely passive protection after mains power outages; they have become critical infrastructure to ensure stable operation of key loads and support the upgrade of power supply architectures.
In its report *Energy and AI*, the International Energy Agency (IEA) states that electricity demand for data centers in Southeast Asia is projected to more than double by 2030. The rapidly growing centralized loads also impose higher requirements on regional power generation capacity, power grid construction and system flexibility. Meanwhile, core markets such as Singapore are constrained by land and power resources, and countries across Southeast Asia differ in power grid conditions, construction cycles and operation & maintenance capabilities. For these real-world scenarios, power backup products need to balance high power density, fast response, flexible scalability and full-lifecycle operation and maintenance efficiency.
02
A Wide Range of Products Covering Key Power Backup Scenarios
Sidecar MW-class High-Power Battery System
Designed for the short transition window of AI data centers "from utility power outage to diesel generator startup", the complete unit has a capacity of 17 kWh, with a rated output of 1000 kW per cabinet and a deployed power density of 1.67 MW/m². The product is compatible with power supply architectures including UPS, ±400 VDC and 800 VDC, and can deliver megawatt-level backup power in 800 VDC retrofit scenarios. The side-cabinet style and near-load deployment help free up space for IT racks; the resource pooling design supports remote dynamic scheduling, offering more flexible options for legacy computer room upgrades and high-density computing power deployment.
High-Power Battery Cabinet Series
Built to address instantaneous power surges and 6–15 minute backup power requirements of AI computing clusters, each cabinet delivers up to 600 kW and supports an instantaneous rate exceeding 6C. The system allows a maximum of 16 cabinets to be paralleled, enabling scaling from single cabinets and individual computer rooms to park-level applications. While ensuring continuity of critical loads, it reserves room for subsequent computing power expansion.
