Liu Yiyang is a doctor from University College London, a Class B talent of the "Town of Famous People" Talent Program, and the founder of Zhejiang Vastech Technology Co., LTD. According to Liu Yiyang, the project leader, the water zinc-ion battery project is committed to applying the water zinc-based battery to high power density demand areas such as industrial peak cutting and valley filling energy storage batteries, photovoltaic wind and voltage supporting energy storage and power grid frequency modulation.
Over the past few decades, lithium-ion batteries have dominated the battery market. However, limited lithium resources, high cost, poor safety and environmental impact hinder the large-scale application of lithium-ion batteries. The water zinc-ion battery developed by the project can break this technical barrier well and become a low-cost, high-power and absolutely safe energy storage device in the post-lithium battery era.
The product developed by the project has the following characteristics: 1. Intrinsically safe, without any risk of combustion and explosion; 2. The battery cell cost is 60% to 70% of lithium, and the energy storage system cost is 50% to 60% of lithium; 3. The production line construction cost is only 60% to 70% of lithium battery, which can break the restriction of the scale effect of lithium battery; 4. Use high-density materials and a single fluid collector, with high volume specific energy density; 5. High power density (5~15 times lithium), low heat discharge under fast charge; 6. Low capacity attenuation rate in high-power and high-current discharge scenarios.
