The group standard for Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries has been officially launched. VASTECH Technology sincerely invites ecological partners to jointly build new industry norms.

Release time:2025-06-18 21:09:18

To colleagues and expert friends from enterprises, institutions, universities and other relevant organizations in the energy storage sector:

To advance the standardized development of aqueous zinc-ion battery technology, Zhejiang Hanwei Technology Co., Ltd., as a co-initiator, together with authoritative industry organizations including China Battery Industry Association, has officially launched the formulation of the group standard *Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries*.

We are now opening cooperation across the entire industrial chain. Battery manufacturers, universities, research institutes, testing organizations and upstream and downstream partners are sincerely invited to participate jointly, to build a safe, efficient and sustainable industry standard.

# I. Background and Significance of Standard Development
The technical routes of new energy storage are becoming increasingly diverse. Aqueous zinc-ion batteries feature high safety, fast response, and resource friendliness, showing remarkable application potential in complex scenarios. Nevertheless, the industry is still confronted with challenges including inconsistent technical parameters, lack of test methods, and chaotic market access during promotion, making standard formulation an urgent need.

Industry demand: With the improved utilization rate of underground spaces, enclosed scenarios such as shopping malls and buildings impose stricter requirements on battery safety. Lithium batteries carry the risk of thermal runaway and can hardly meet working conditions with high power density and limited space. Aqueous zinc batteries have the advantages of inherent safety, high rate performance and long service life, making them suitable for such scenarios.

Policy orientation: Building a new power system dominated by new energy is a core task of the "Dual Carbon" strategy, and frequency regulation via electrochemical energy storage serves as a key supporting approach. To further enhance the safety and flexibility of energy storage systems, it is necessary to accelerate the standardized and large-scale application of aqueous zinc battery technology in the new power system.

Standard value: Unifying technical requirements and test methods helps accelerate the coordinated development of the aqueous zinc battery industry, raise the standardization level of the sector, and build an open, transparent, fair and orderly market environment.

# II. Qualifications and Requirements for Participating Organizations
Legally registered enterprises, public institutions, testing and certification bodies, equipment manufacturers and upstream and downstream industrial chain entities engaged in energy storage, electric power, materials and other related fields, which have relevant working foundations for association standards, as well as supporting technical, equipment and personnel resources; universities, research institutes and other organizations with relevant research foundations and engineering capabilities.

# III. Application Procedures
Documents to be submitted:
1. Application Form for Standard Participation (with official company seal);
2. Company profile and relevant work achievements;
3. Resume of the recommended drafter, including technical expertise, representative achievements or experience;
4. Enterprises shall provide a copy of the business license; universities and research institutes shall submit relevant qualification certificates.
